Gang and gun crime has seen a recent resurgence in Greater Vancouver, and Crime Stoppers wanted a new campaign to encourage anyone with tips to submit them anonymously. At the same time, we identified a need to create a distinct look and feel that the Crime Stoppers brand could use over time, to elevate brand awareness and recognition. Inspired by classic 1950s film noir and Saul Bass’ iconic graphic style, we created movie posters and a short, trailer-style film—incorporating highly recognizable components of the Crime Stoppers visual brand. The ads celebrate the real stars of crime stories: the anonymous tipsters who help bring criminals to justice.
